stillhere
provide quality scanning of slides, negatives, prints or documents ..... whether it be professional digital archiving of artwork (artist's slides converted to digital files) or battered old photographs of treasured memories, we will handle your precious images carefully.
stillhere
specialise in catering for visual artists' needs, in particular digital archiving from transparency ..... we pay special attention to colour balance and image accuracy for print or web purposes.
timeframe
all scanning work is normally carried out within seven working days of receiving your order and payment being cleared ..... the smaller the order, the faster the turnaround .... larger orders will take longer in which case we would email you an estimated completion date.
info
We scan from colour or black/white images. Black and white negatives and positives are scanned by default in RGB colour space for better final results, if you would like them scanned in grayscale mode, which will result in smaller file sizes, please let us know in advance.
Scanning film generally gives better results than scanning prints. This is because film supplies much greater detail than it is possible to extract from prints. Film gives a substantially greater contrast range across the overall image. This is even more the case in respect of slide film which is why many photo-stock agencies prefer that media. When scanning film images the resultant scans might be as much as 80 MB in size, a reflection of the information held within film or slide. To achieve the best possible results when choosing an image to be scanned, there are several aspects that should be taken into account. Check the send page for more details on how to prepare and send your images to us. An image should be sharp with high definition. This is an important factor in determining the final quality of your scanned images. Less than this and you will suffer from blurred images. Images are best with a good colour balance that reproduces correctly. Images need proper contrast. Good contrast helps distinguish between the light and dark areas of your photo.
